Shibbie was created to solve a simple problem — protecting hair and scalp in the Australian sun shouldn’t feel greasy, heavy, or intrusive.

While sun protection is a daily habit for many Australians, hair and scalp are often overlooked. Traditional sunscreens weren’t designed for these areas, and haircare products rarely consider sun exposure at all. We saw the gap and set out to create something better.

Why we created Shibbie

Hair doesn’t fully protect the scalp from UV exposure, particularly along the part, hairline, and crown. At the same time, body sunscreens can feel uncomfortable in hair — leaving residue, greasiness, or disrupting styling.
